The Adhoc Committee that visited President Zuma’s homestead in Nkandla has spoken to media about its Nkandla findings. The committee comprised of members of parliament including the opposition.

The chairperson of the committee, Cedric Frolick, has described their visit to Nkandla as eye opening. He accused suppliers for colluding to inflate the price during the construction of Nkandla homestead.
He said that the committee is satisfied that the charges must be drawn against suppliers and everyone involved for inflating the cost of Zuma’s homestead upgrades.

Frolick disagreed with the finding of the Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela, about the pool that was included for safety reasons. He said that his view changed after live demonstrations by Nkandla fire brigade. He is satisfied that the pool serves its purpose it was constructed for and that it will be utilized as a recreational facility.
