Zille also paid R500 000 to Wesgro which is a provincial government entity that organised seminars during her trip.
Sunday Times report has revealed that Western Cape Premier Helen Zille blew R1.1 million on a trip with her husband to Asia. They travelled to Singapore and Japan and they were accompanied by three officials from her office.
The Sunday Times report also revealed that Zille paid R500 000 to Wesgro which is a provincial government entity that organised seminars during her trip.
Zille failed to provide answers about the trip during question time in the Western Cape legislature this week. Another report by Die Burger revealed that the provincial ANC chief whip, Pierre Uys was not satisfied by Zille response to his question about the trip.
Zille did not see anything wrong with her husband accompanying her using tax payers money, a move which has attracted criticism. The ANC has called for investigation on R500 000 payment Zille made to Wesgro.
