ANC Chief Whip Resigns Because of Redeployment

The African National Congress in Parliament announces that it’s parliamentary Chief Whip, Comrade Stone Sizani, has been redeployed from Parliament to a new responsibility that would be publicly announced in due course.

Because of the urgency with which he is required in the new deployment, Cde Sizani has thus resigned from Parliament with immediate effect.
The National Executive Committee of the ANC will make a decision regarding the replacement when it meets for its regular sitting in a few weeks’ time. ANC deputy Chief Whip, Cde Doris Dlakude, will in the interim act as Chief Whip.
The ANC Caucus meeting that sat this afternoon congratulated Cde Sizani and paid tribute to his excellent leadership of the Majority Party in Parliament since his appointment in 2013.
Caucus also wished Acting Chief Whip Cde Dlakude well in her new responsibility.
